About the Role

As a Mobile Logistics Medical Device Driver at Zimmer Biomet, you will be responsible for deliveries and pick-ups, transporting medical device products from a local sales warehouse to assigned hospitals. Routes are subject to change daily. A full-size, company-owned van is provided for pickups and deliveries. When not driving, you will perform office assistance and work cross-functionally with warehouse personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Pack, unload, and deliver medical instrumentation and implants to company accounts (hospitals) for upcoming surgeries, dropping off ordered instrumentation to hospitals’ sterile areas and instruments to hospitals’ holding areas.
  • Retrieve items from accounts post-use, checking for instrument completeness before exiting the facility and communicating with hospital staff to locate missing items.
  • Move instrument trays and implants across facilities daily, double-checking counts and labeling to ensure correct product delivery.
  • Communicate estimated time of arrival (ETA) to Warehouse Dispatcher for each stop on the assigned route.
  • Work at a fast pace to complete all assigned stops within the shift while maintaining accuracy and double-checking counts at each stop.
  • Practice safe and lawful driving while operating a full-size van for pickups and deliveries, maintaining cleanliness and proper vehicle maintenance.
  • Communicate any issues that arise to dispatch and management, as incorrect/incomplete drops disrupt upcoming surgery schedules.
  • Assist inventory and warehouse personnel as needed, including scanning products into the computer system while stocking and pulling items from warehouse shelves with 100% accuracy.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Works well in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to move at a fast pace and multitask while maintaining accuracy.
  • Successful employment history; must be highly reliable and punctual.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to follow directions closely and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of trust and communication with the warehouse and supervisory team.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required; further education preferred.
  • Previous logistics or professional driving experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to work overtime on a regular basis and some holidays.

Schedule

  • Guaranteed 40 hours weekly.
  • Daily travel required within the local geography depending on the surgery schedule.
