The Warehouse Driver provides excellent customer service and support by delivering products and materials efficiently, exactly, promptly, and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned vehicles for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of products and materials.
- Operate a Moffett or Piggy-Back forklift.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Follow written, verbal, or GPS directions.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment (e.g., gas, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes) to ensure proper working condition.
- Report mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Maintain records such as vehicle logs, cargo records, or billing statements per regulations.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic situations to dispatch via telephone.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Check delivery tickets for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with employees, vendors, and clients.
- Perform warehouse duties when not delivering, such as loading, unloading, picking material, and general maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and must be at least 21 years of age.
- 3+ years of commercial delivery driver experience.
- Computer literate; proficient with MS Office 365.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
- Detailed-oriented work style comfortable with juggling multiple priorities while maintaining consistency.
- Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and enduring frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
