Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for observing all traffic rules, posted speed signs and bridge weight and height requirements, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to follow the designated routes to maintain deliveries within the timeframe guaranteed to the customer.
- Responsible for accurately loading and unloading of products by maintaining a high level of personal concern for the products being carried.
- Ensures the products delivered correctly match the customer location and manifest by product identification and quantity.
- Inspects all merchandise prior to and during transport; photograph loads prior to transport and at the time of delivery and for obtaining signatures on paperwork upon receipt or delivery.
- Maintains inventory control.
- Ensures shipping accuracy.
- Transports and deliver all orders on time.
- Exceeds production standards.
- Responsible for warehouse picking and receiving, warehouse cleanup and or material movement.
- Processes orders accurately and efficiently and for identifying products based on product codes and/or physical characteristics.
- Inspects all products handled for defects and for stocking products in the appropriate location and updating the system with the appropriate location.
- Ensures all products are properly labeled with product ID, unit quantities and order information as appropriate.
- Keeps up with maintenance and cleanliness of delivery vehicles.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to make sound decisions related to safe driving and the delivery and placement of loads.
- Ability to change priorities based on business needs and adhere to all state and deferral driving regulations.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationship with other employees, customers, and vendors.
- Familiarity with the operation of a smart phone and GPS navigation.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Must have a good work ethic with a desire to constantly improve.
Education and Experience
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21+ years of age (due to insurance restrictions).
- Two plus years distribution and/or logistics delivery experience with a driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Somewhat warehouse knowledge with shipping, receiving, inventory and picking up materials in a company vehicle.
- Having a valid CDL Class A or B license would be a plus.
- Construction industry experience is desired but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Typical standard warehouse environment conditions: ability to bend, sit, stand, walk, reach, and lift and move up to 50 pounds of product onto and off skids at ground level.
- Ability to sit in a truck cabin for long periods and to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to climb up into a truck cabin and on and off a truck bed, as well as move skids with the aid of a pallet jack.
- Continuous standing, lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Travel is required to drive loads to multiple locations and or to customer designated locations.
- The flexibility to work a 5 am to 5 pm shift Monday-Friday. OT expected at times, depending on the needs of the business. Some weekends and nights will be required.
Pay
Range is $19-22 per hour DOE.
