Warehouse Driver

About the role

Contra Costa Electric is hiring for a Warehouse Driver position reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager located in Martinez, CA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tools and materials to job sites along established routes throughout the Bay Area.
• Safely operate equipment after training, including a 14’ stake bed truck, 22’ stake bed truck, tow trailer, and forklift.
• Travel to vendor warehouses in the Bay Area to pick up will-call materials and deliver to job sites or the main office.
• Deliver mail to the local post office as needed.
• Maintain daily communication with the Warehouse Manager to update route progress.
• Contribute to a neat and tidy work area within the warehouse, yard, and storage sheds/conex boxes.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and fueled according to maintenance checklists.
• Communicate with the Fleet Manager to ensure proper maintenance and operation of assigned vehicles.
• Ensure safe operation of all equipment, including forklifts, through proper training and daily inspections.
• Assist in securing the facility by walking the perimeter and reporting or repairing deficiencies.
• Perform miscellaneous housekeeping duties in the main office, including moving furniture, emptying garbage and recycling, and small maintenance tasks.
• Assist office staff with archiving document boxes, maintaining records of box locations, and retrieving or storing boxes as required.
• Maintain stock of consumable office materials such as bottled water, paper, cutlery, and coffee.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience as a driver preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record required.
• Class B license preferred.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear.
• Regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Routinely lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to travel by car to various job sites and navigate safely.

Schedule

Ability to work 40 hours per week in Martinez, CA with daily travel to job sites and local warehouses as needed. Must maintain excellent attendance for warehouse working hours of 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Overtime possible depending on traffic and workload.

Pay

Salary based on experience and qualifications, ranging from $20.00/hr to $23.00/hr.
