About the Role
Oversees distribution center activities for some or all of the following processes: packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stock handling, storing, distribution, and inventory support. Provides high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution, and compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction for assigned employees, financial, and operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Manages order fulfillment from stored inventory, meeting customer requirements and inspection/testing processes; ensures order shipments within time commitments in the most cost-effective manner; communicates with customers regarding any fulfillment issues or problems.
- Manages inventory through periodic and special inventory counts, reconciles discrepancies, and ensures accuracy, including returns of defective materials.
- Ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and processed appropriately.
- Plans, develops, and/or implements quality assurance procedures. Evaluates quality deviations to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures.
- Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy, quality, efficiency, adherence to specifications, and overall customer experience.
- Ensures the work area is well-maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations and department policies, including ESD requirements.
- Ensures equipment is safe, in good repair, functioning appropriately, and calibrated to comply with required military, ISO, and other quality standards.
- Participates in the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements.
- Creates, reviews, updates, presents, manages, and/or contributes to statistical, narrative, financial, regularly scheduled, and ad-hoc written and oral reports and presentations.
- Assesses productivity measures, identifies trends, and monitors department activity.
- Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, including various key performance metrics.

- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Contributes to budget development and performance standards of the department and direct reports.
- Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans, and independent judgment.
- Collaborates with team(s), customers/clients, functional peer group managers, and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.
- Decisions may impact work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people, and/or financial resources.
Requirements
- Typically 6+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
- This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen or National, or a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), due to access to ITAR product.
