Warehouse Distribution Agent

About the role

Assist the team with the timely and accurate movement of goods in and out of the warehouse as part of a global logistics network.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate unloading and loading of trucks
• Accurate weighing and dimensioning of freight
• Operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts
• Report shortages, damages, and/or discrepancies on appropriate forms
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system
• Compare quantity, labeling, and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct
• Accurate labeling of freight with zero cross-labels
• Proper putting away, picking, and staging of freight; all freight must be put away into a location and accounted for (PUTs & LDD)
• Filling out documentation as required
• Ability to identify and match numbers and country codes
• Interact with office staff to meet customer service standards
• Maintain good relationships with customers, ensuring zero mis-ships, cross labels, or damage to customer freight
• Contribute to a clean and safe warehouse environment, including temperature-controlled rooms
• May check in drivers in the ProxyClick system and verify their information (if trained)
• Understand department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, count accurately, perform simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply), and write legibly
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis
• Ability to use proper lifting techniques with weights up to 40 lbs
• Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety
• Ability to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements
• Ability to shift priorities easily
• Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely
• Organized with good time management skills and excellent work habits
• Fork-lift certification and Security Threat Assessment required upon successful employment
• Adaptable to changes, stress tolerant, reliable, and motivated
• Confidence to work collaboratively with others on the team
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
• Must comply with all attendance, tardiness, and vacation policies
