Warehouse Clerk - Material Handler

About the role

API Heat Transfer is looking for a Warehouse Clerk on 1st shift to join their team in Racine. The company is undergoing a transformation with a new mission, new leaders, and is accelerating its path to Lean Cultural Change.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all warehouse activities and receive and process stock according to standard operating procedures
• Receive product and materials using the company ERP system
• Pick parts for production needs
• Assist with inventory counts and planning
• Help drive compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals
• Provide recommendations on process improvements and assist with implementation
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse

Requirements

• High school diploma
• ERP System experience (i.e., SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, PLEX)
• At least two years of previous warehouse experience
• Forklift certification and truck driving experience preferred
• Solution-focused and process improvement driven
• Proven ability to develop relationships with internal partners
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Lean / Continuous Improvement experience preferred

Physical Requirements

The role requires:

• Standing for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift)
• Frequent walking throughout the production floor
• Regularly lifting and carrying up to 25-50 pounds, and occasionally lifting heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment
• Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials
• Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks
• Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools
• Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas
• Sufficient vision and hearing to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals
