Warehouse Clerk

About the role

The Warehouse Clerk reports to the Warehouse Manager. This position will be responsible for coordinating and executing warehouse administrative tasks, including shipping & receiving transactions, document review and filing, appointment scheduling, dock door and driver coordination, maintaining the shipping office organization, and any other task assigned by management.

Strong interface with management staff, carriers, drivers and any employee/contractor throughout the operation. Monitors progress against inbound and outbound schedules and provides support in resolving any issues.

Responsibilities

• Helps coordinate and execute warehouse administrative tasks, including shipping & receiving transactions, document review and filing, appointment scheduling, dock door and driver coordination, maintaining the shipping office organization, and any other task assigned by management.
• Interface with management staff, carriers, drivers and any employee/contractor throughout the operation.
• Maintain, file and attach all required paperwork as directed by management.
• Absolutely necessary to inspect inbound parcel deliveries and sign for packages (UPS, FEDEX, USPS).
• Organize inbound packages mentioned above and call the appropriate parties to pick up their packages.
• Maintain, file and attach all required paperwork as directed by management.
• Absolutely necessary to assist with housekeeping audits and functions in and around the warehouse.
• Absolutely necessary to be self-motivated, action-oriented, ensure on time shipments (inbound/outbound), and coordinate inbound/outbound traffic.
• Absolutely necessary to be alert and capable of identifying a hazard, should one occur, in order to avoid it by reporting immediately or by initiating corrective action.
• Absolutely necessary to effectively and calmly communicate with co-workers and/or management regarding instructions, needs and/or conflicts, and work in a fast-paced, sometimes highly stressed environment.
• Absolutely necessary to push/pull and maneuver objects of varying weight with or without assistance.
• Absolutely necessary to stand and walk up to 4-10 hours per day on concrete surfaces while performing duties.
• Absolutely necessary to constantly use hands and fingers to hold and handle objects and equipment required in performing job duties.
• Absolutely necessary to speak and hear is essential and required for effective communication.
• Absolutely necessary to have vision acuity required to read and prepare reports.
• Absolutely necessary to be mentally alert and capable of remembering faces, names, oral instructions and details.
• Absolutely necessary to work in warehouse environmental conditions: Temperature is of a wide range of degrees and noise levels due to a amount of time spent in warehouse.
• Absolutely necessary to be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk have full dexterity and correctable vision.
• Absolutely necessary to have ERP knowledge.
• Absolutely necessary to have computer and Microsoft Office knowledge and experience (Successful candidates will be expected to have most, but not all of the following).

Requirements

• Familiar with and understand the responsibilities of handling food products for human consumption experience a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• ERP system experience.
