Warehouse Associate WMS 3W
About the role
As a member of the Warehouse Group, you will perform multiple tasks across various warehouse processes, rotating through all or most areas rather than being assigned to a single task. You will work as part of a team, collaborating with stakeholders to support internal customers and their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Receiving, order picking, packing (wrapping, crating, labeling), and shipping of both large and small materials
- Operate forklifts, cranes, tuggers, pallet jacks, and other material transport equipment
- Loading and unloading trucks via forklift or pallet jack
- Parts counting, including inventory audits and cycle-counting
- Utilize ORACLE and other PC/web applications to review, enter, and edit data
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and verify accuracy
- Engage in loss prevention and general warehouse housekeeping
- Read and interpret pick tickets, packing instructions, safety alerts, drawings, and other communications
- Collaborate with Warehouse Associates and Support Staff to improve warehouse processes through team meetings
- Perform all activities in compliance with Wabtec Corporation standards for integrity, safety, and quality
- Act as an in-process inspector for all tasks
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High-school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes; additional gear may be required depending on the task or environment
- Willingness to work in a tobacco-free environment
- Must pass a drug test, physical, and background check as part of the selection process
- Willingness to submit to random drug tests
- Ability to work occasional weekends and scheduled overtime to meet position requirements
- Must adhere to standards, ensuring quality work is performed safely and within acceptable timeframes
Skills
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Prior forklift driving experience; Forklift Certification preferred
- Safety mindset with knowledge of safety procedures and practices
- Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, quality and safety documents, and other critical job-related information
- Strong communication skills
- Prior ERP system experience (e.g., ORACLE, SAP)
- Computer literacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a customer-focused approach
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Manual dexterity for using hand tools to perform essential functions
Physical Demands
- Ability to work at heights up to 20 ft and climb ladders
- Must be able to lift materials up to 40 lbs
- Ability to properly use and care for assigned tools and equipment
Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position is $22.82/hour, with progression to $23.29/hour after 6 months and $24.03/hour at 4 years of service. An additional night shift differential of $1.00/hour applies when working 2nd shift hours. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
Schedule
Shift availability depends on business needs. The position follows a 4-day, 10-hour workweek:
- 1st shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday through Thursday)
- 2nd shift: 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM (Monday through Thursday)
Must be able to work scheduled shift hours, including occasional overtime.
