Warehouse Associate Union - Night Shift - Part Time (IL)

About the role

The Warehouse Associate Union - Night Shift - Part Time position involves receiving, stocking, preparing, and shipping merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

Responsibilities

• Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
• Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.
• Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
• Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
• Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, “Preferred Method Standard”.
• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
• Performs house keeping duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a functional capacity test.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 6 months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred. Material handling equipment experience preferred. Reach truck experience a plus.

Work Environment

• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associates encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
• Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.
• This is a full-time position.
• Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
• Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.
• The position does not require travel.

$24.46/hour
