Warehouse Associate - Starting At $20.55 Per Hour

About the role

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is seeking talented Warehouse Associates at our Spokane Distribution Center located at 9610 W. Hallett Road, Spokane, WA 99224.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform the material handling and warehousing processes required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Operate handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting and order processing.
• Be willing to be trained on and operate order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead hoists (not all positions operate equipment).
• Report defects and need for repairs.
• Utilize pneumatic tools and/or power tools to build and construct wooden shipping containers.
• Utilize tools for the application of paint and rust preventative.
• Perform housekeeping functions as required.
• Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Demonstrated longevity of at least twelve months in previous employment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds individually.
• Ability to walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, sit, stand, squat, and bend over repetitively and consistently throughout your shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Eagerness to learn processes and procedures in multiple areas.
• Ability to properly perform quality checks.
• Focus on accuracy to provide customers with the best possible experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform a variety of clerical functions as needed.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Ability to understand basic math.
• Consistent usage of required PPE and safety procedures for tasks being performed.
• Reliable, on-time attendance record; ability to efficiently reach productivity goals.

Pay

• Starting rate of $20.55/hr (an additional $1 shift premium where applicable).
• Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half (some may be mandatory).
• Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm ($20.55/hr)
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm ($21.55/hr)
• 3rd Shift: Sunday night – Friday morning 10:00 pm – 6:30 am ($21.55/hr)
• 4th Shift: Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am – 8:30 pm and Monday and Tuesday 2:00 pm – 12:30 am ($21.55/hr)
• 5th Shift: Wednesday – Friday 2:00 pm – 12:30 am and Saturday 10:00 am – 8:30 pm ($21.55/hr)
• 7th Shift: Monday night to Friday morning 10:00 pm – 8:30 am ($21.55/hr)

Actual shift availability varies week by week. Successful candidates will be started as soon as a position becomes available on their requested shift; this could mean a sizable waiting period before starting.
