Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and ingredients.
- Safely store and organize raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products.
- Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Monitor product shelf life and FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently. Prepare shipments for outgoing delivery, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Quality Control: Inspect materials and products for quality and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the integrity of the products.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with production, quality control, and logistics teams to meet production schedules and customer demands. Collaborate with team members to streamline warehouse processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling of hazardous materials. Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment. Follow sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues related to inventory discrepancies, product damage, or operational inefficiencies. Propose and implement solutions to improve warehouse processes.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a refrigerated environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 150 pounds.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors (as low as -10 degrees).
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Basic understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Forklift certification (if applicable) is a plus.
