About the role
Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Operations and is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. It includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations performs and controls a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, and delivery.
Job Summary
The Associate II, Warehouse Ops assists on inbound or outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, meeting quality, safety, productivity and operational standards. This role receives products in the inbound section and ships products in the outbound section.
Responsibilities
- Cross‑training in multiple areas of the warehouse including Inbound, ValueLink and Outbound.
- Receive large boxes on the warehouse dock, scan product with an RF scanner, and input product information into computers.
- Break down cases of product and operate heavy equipment to replenish the warehouse.
- Palletize large items to skid and wrap for shipment.
- Pack small items in boxes.
- Drive material handling equipment as required (order picker/cherry picker, forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, walkie rider).
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience, preferred.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- Previous material handling equipment (MHE) experience, preferred.
- Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice‑to‑pick experience highly preferred.
- Ability to consistently lift 50 lb and to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for an 8‑hour shift or more (required).
- Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
- Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse.
- Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently.
- Adherence to site safety regulations, including wearing required PPE such as steel‑toed safety shoes and safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS and QRA policies.
- Aptitude to work in a fast‑paced distribution environment while meeting hourly distribution quotas and performance standards.
