About the Role

The Warehouse Associate I is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role handles all warehouse transactions and maintains the branch warehouse environment and equipment. Delivery duties are not part of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; immediately address safety concerns.
  • Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description by checking merchandise against the packing list.
  • Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
  • Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring the correct number and type of product is shipped.
  • Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying correct postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments when necessary.
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines as required.
  • Load common carrier and company vehicles.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • May perform other branch duties, including counter sales and customer support, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

Skills

  • General knowledge of electrical products is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds: Constantly – at least 51% of the time.
  • Lift and move up to 25 pounds: Constantly – at least 51% of the time.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds: Constantly – at least 51% of the time.

Working Environment

  • Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments, such as high noise levels and exposure to heat and cold: Constantly – at least 51% of the time.
  • Exposed to electrical hazards and risk of electrical shock: Constantly – at least 51% of the time.

Pay

For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
