About the Role
The Warehouse Associate ensures orders are available, accurate, salable, and received in a timely manner, exceeding customer expectations. This position focuses on accurate, efficient, and safe order fulfillment while surpassing customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Order Filling
- Picks product from fulfillment center stock according to wave pick list and organizes on cart.
- Pulls warehouse items from shelves based on number, size, color, quantity, and quality requirements.
- Operates scanners to ensure proper order picking and accurate inventory management.
- Order Checking
- Verifies that the item picked matches the invoice by comparing manufacturer name, item number, and description.
- Ensures the quantity of items picked matches the invoice quantity.
- For time-sensitive items, verifies the expiration date is acceptable for shipment.
- Confirms all items listed on the invoice have been picked.
- For items with components (e.g., a pump), verifies that components are included.
- Packing
- Counts items and verifies the count against the invoice quantity.
- Matches the ship-to address or invoice number on the shipping label with the invoice.
- Selects correct packaging, fill, and labels.
- Follows regulatory guidelines for packing items with regulatory classifications.
- Creates proper shipping papers for packages containing hazardous materials.
- Manifesting
- For non-auto-manifested packages: weighs packages, determines transportation method, verifies labeling, scans information, and applies shipping labels.
- For auto-manifested packages: verifies and corrects non-conforming packages.
- Expeditor
- Processes orders requiring special handling as directed by branch personnel, sales staff, or end-users.
- Order Processing
- Fulfills current or new client orders to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Additional Functions
- Adheres to Patterson Companies' business code of ethics and conduct.
- Aligns with Patterson Companies' Purpose, Vision, and Values.
- Uses assigned warehouse equipment/machinery to perform job duties.
- Meets or exceeds assigned performance metrics and KPIs.
- Helps maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse.
- Handles hazardous materials, pesticides, and prescription drugs according to company processes and applicable laws.
- Performs all work in accordance with company safety guidelines and regulatory compliance.
- May train and certify in the use of forklifts (sit-down, cherry picker, Joey forklift).
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and count.
- Comprehensive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and productivity goals.
