About the Role

The Warehouse Associate I is an entry-level position responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, order picking, verification, and loading customer or carrier vehicles. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service, and cost are top priorities.

Responsibilities

• Practice incident and accident prevention, demonstrating safe behavior in all activities.
• Obtain and maintain forklift certification through in-house training and complete daily forklift check sheets.
• Troubleshoot work-related issues and communicate them to maintenance and the Shipping Lead.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Prioritize work assignments by meeting with the Shipping Lead daily.
• Drive forklifts safely through the warehouse, mindful of pedestrian traffic.
• Participate in cycle counting events and adjust schedules to meet inventory deadlines.
• Ship products according to FIFO principles to ensure shelf-life efficacy.
• Prepare products for shipping by reviewing packing slips, hand-picking items, and assembling pallets.
• Arrange pallets on flatbeds according to weight restrictions and driver input.
• Verify correct product delivery by reviewing packing slips and product on trucks.
• Stretch-wrap accessory pallets using a turntable, adjusting height and tension.
• Verify product quantity for shipment and receiving by counting and signing Picking Slips and Bills of Lading.
• Learn safety hazards and job procedures by reading Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Learn software programs by reading manuals and procedures.
• Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures to the Logistics Manager.
• Safely load and unload van trailers using dock locks and chocks.
• Learn hazardous material safety for spills and transporting; earn and maintain HAZMAT certification.
• Perform other duties as instructed by the Logistics Manager.
• Review daily emails and department communications; maintain good attendance.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all plant employees and business contacts.
• Use process improvement tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Follow and document Hazardous Materials Transportation Guidelines for all shipments.
• Take initiative to observe and perform needed tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with overtime as needed.

Pay

Base Hourly Rate: $27.03. Compensation offers will be determined based on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, education, and qualifications.
