Warehouse Associate/Driver

About the role

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. has grown into a premier supplier of Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment, and supplies. We currently import, manufacture, and distribute over 7,000 items.

Responsibilities

• Picks and assembles customer orders as indicated on the pick list.
• Completes door-to-door deliveries by driving company truck on assigned routes.
• Maintains and safely navigates the company vehicle.
• Documents, records, and completes driver logs when making deliveries.
• Receives product deliveries and unloads delivery trucks in a timely manner.
• Inspects received products for damage and volume accuracy and documents accordingly.
• Accurately stocks inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotates product inventory to maintain a FIFO food storage system.
• Participates in warehouse upkeep and ensures the stockroom is clean and organized.
• Collaborates with manager and salespersons to assemble urgent deliveries to customers.
• Provides excellent service to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Attends semiannual inventory counts on designated days, possibly on weekends.
• Supports Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hours.
• Able to work without sitting for extended periods of time, including standing and walking.
• Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to handle and move 50+ pounds assisted frequently.
• Conversational level English required; Business level English preferred.
• Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed.
• Maintains a positive attitude.
• Works efficiently independently and in a team.
• Adapts to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of general warehousing experience required.
• 2+ years of driving/delivery experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
• Has strong communications and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates awareness of proper warehouse safety procedures.
• Forklift training and/or certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors preferred.
