About the role

This full-time (40 hr./wk.) position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of equipment and materials between Diversified warehouses and client job sites. Additionally, this role oversees day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring inventory accuracy, organization, and control of incoming and outgoing shipments, including RMAs. A service-oriented approach is required to proactively support local and global project teams with all warehouse activities, collaborating and communicating with various departments and warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver products and materials to job sites and between buildings.
  • Process outbound shipping requests in a timely manner according to project specifications and Diversified’s shipping and inventory control procedures.
  • Confirm all documentation and data entry is complete and accurate before releasing shipments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean warehouse facility: break down boxes, control waste, store shipping pallets and other materials, and follow inventory control processes and safety policies.
  • Unload and receive deliveries: process receipt and/or electronically log all incoming packages based on disposition.
  • Qualify equipment/materials and store according to warehouse layout and project specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies using RF/Scan Gun.
  • Track various aspects of goods using computer systems.
  • Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Receive and process defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Weigh and label outbound shipments, including small package and freight shipments.
  • Recommend cost-effective shipping procedures to staff members.
  • Call for couriers in response to staff requests and notify project teams of incoming courier correspondence.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Valid Driver License with a clean record.
  • Pass drug screening.
  • Meet appropriate DOT requirements (physical) as applicable.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of trips, inspections, and Hours of Service (HOS) logs for compliance and audits.
  • Ability to safely handle a 26’ box truck in the southern California area.
  • Organizational skills applicable to loading and unloading trucks.
  • Knowledge of how to strap/securing loads within a truck for transport.
  • Ability to follow GPS driving instructions.
