Warehouse Associate - Cleaner

About the role

The Warehouse Associate - Cleaner position at SMITHFIELD, NCU.S. LUMBER, an SBP company, involves cleaning the warehouse, operating a sweeper, and performing general cleaning tasks. Responsibilities also include loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting, and handling products within the Smithfield, NC warehouse. The role requires cooperative teamwork and productive work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning the warehouse
• Riding the sweeper to sweep warehouse floors
• General cleaning/housekeeping duties
• Off-loading and packaging lumber
• Safely operate forklift and other machinery
• Band, wrap, tape product
• Maintain work area and be organized
• Identify and read tickets, SKUs, UPC labels and reports
• Great attention to detail and accuracy - be able to stand and work on your feet throughout shift as normal routine
• Be able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, push, pull, move, and lift to 50lbs
• Work in an outside warehouse environment
• Follow all safety procedures
• Work in a team environment

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience
• Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required
• Must have basic math and analytical skills
• Team Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred
• Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative
