About the role

The Warehouse/Driver position at Cornerstone Building Brands requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, 2 years of commercial truck driving experience, and the ability to lift up to 110 lbs with assistance. The role involves ensuring inventory control, maintaining safety, operating motorized equipment responsibly, and performing back-up driver duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe work practices and equipment per training and OSHA guidelines
  • Work towards 100% participation in safety team meetings for OSHA training and get involved with the WSP program
  • Always operate motorized equipment responsibly and safely
  • Obey all local, state, federal, and DOT regulations related to your CDL licensing
  • Be proficient and efficient operating a tractor and trailer
  • Shuttling product between warehouses
  • Backing in trailers
  • Ensuring load is stable before transporting
  • Maintain and monitor trailers for the loading schedule
  • Maintain trailer lots and docks in an orderly manner
  • Truck Drivers must also meet Warehouse Job Expectations
  • Affix to warehouse when driving duties are fulfilled
  • Work in the mandatory overtime rotation with the warehouse
  • Filling in for other drivers off first. If none off, you will work in the warehouse
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and timely including safety check sheets
  • Plan your work and be flexible with breaks and lunch times. Observe the company break policy
  • Be a team player in all areas seeking facility excellence instead of personal or shift excellence. Get involved with team activities where applicable
  • Strive for continuous improvement of job knowledge for individual growth, while sharing that knowledge to benefit others

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
  • 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
  • Able to lift 85 Ibs individually and up to 110 Ibs with assistance
  • Able to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain electronic logs, and safety control devices, etc.
  • Able to follow instructions and take directions via on-board computer system and by phone and e-mail
  • Able to communicate well both verbally and written
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
