Responsibilities

• General Warehouse:
  • Assist with annual physical inventory and maintain a perpetual inventory bin-maintenance system.
  • Stock and post incoming orders.
  • Assist in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory.
  • Assist in monthly parts returns.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Stock and post orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
  • Ensure areas of the parts department are properly stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness by disposing of used boxes and trash, sweeping floors, and dusting parts bins daily.
  • Assist in crating and accounting for all core shipments back to the manufacturer when parts are replaced.
  • Keep parts area clean and uncluttered.
• Warranty Returns:
  • Maintain a system for receiving and storing warranty parts for future shipping or scrap.
  • Responsible for shipping warranty parts on a weekly basis.
• Deliveries:
  • Assist in coordinating pick-up and deliveries for parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
  • Make deliveries in lieu of drivers when needed.
  • Verify that invoices match purchase orders for each delivery.
  • Keep and file accurate logs of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Ensure recipient's signature is on each delivery entry.
  • Deliver parts to the shop and distribute to appropriate technicians.
  • Deliver parts to customers, satellite stores, or vendors when parts delivery drivers are unavailable.
  • Ensure trucks are unloaded each night and all paperwork is turned in for undelivered parts.
  • Coordinate with pick-up and deliveries to designated accounts as instructed by parts or service departments.
  • Check with relevant personnel before leaving to coordinate last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Advise the parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; 2 years of experience in a parts and/or service environment.
• Language Skills: Must be fluent in English, including effective written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful but not required.
• Mathematical Skills: General math skills to reconcile stock orders, quantity adjustments, etc.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, quickly assess situations, and make accurate decisions based on available information.

Physical Demands

This position requires climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The worker must perform medium work, including ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc., and balancing. Close visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection, using measurement devices, and assembling or fabricating parts.

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of hazardous and nonhazardous materials. The primary work location is the parts warehouse, with significant time spent in both cold and hot environments. The worker may be subject to:

• Outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.
• Inside environmental conditions with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Noise levels sufficient to require shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
• Hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions affecting the respiratory system or skin, including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

Safety shoes are required from day one of employment. Employees must wear approved safety footwear at all times while working in designated shop and service areas. Background screening is mandatory for employment consideration.
