Warehouse Associate

About the role

Total Safety is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join their safety-conscious team. This role involves processing customer orders, receiving and stocking items, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and expedites shipments
• Determines method and mode of shipment based on customer requirements
• Compares identifying information on outgoing shipments to verify product and count match outbound shipment documentation
• Maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse and equipment
• Follow labeling requirements for each customer
• Operate material handling equipment to safety and production requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent
• Operation of Forklift and Cherry Picker
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Quality control for all outbound orders for accuracy
• Pass background and drug/alcohol test
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Clean and active driving record
• Time management to complete all regularly scheduled tasks on a timely basis
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Organized and time management skills
• With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems
• Ability to interpret packing slip
• Familiarity with proper packaging methods and ability to interpret visual aids
• Compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to company values

Nonessential Skills and Experience

• Warehouse experience
• UPS Worldship knowledge/FedEX Manager knowledge

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk for long periods of time; sit; bend; climb; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear
• The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Operate motorized machinery
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal
