About the role
The position involves supporting the warehouse operations at Ryder in Sumner, WA. The role includes handling children's clothing and accessories, operating various types of equipment, and performing tasks such as loading and unloading trailers, scanning, and maintaining a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Pack, kit, and assemble orders and materials.
- Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.
- Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
- Help train dock employees on new procedures.
- Ensure the facility is secure at the end of each shift.
- Investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
- Perform picking and packing duties.
- Check for evidence of product or container damage.
- Handle materials within associated logical transactions.
- Participate in workgroup and team activities.
- Perform housekeeping duties for assigned areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of related warehouse experience.
- Intermediate ability to operate powered industrial trucks like forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.
- Intermediate ability to operate manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to input data into the WMS computer system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
Qualifications
Must have intermediate ability to operate powered industrial trucks like forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc., including how to operate and maintain (change battery, recognize common mechanical issues).
May be required to operate manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line).
