Warehouse Associates at Ryder handle boxes, home goods, and clothing items using equipment such as manual pallet jacks. These roles support distribution across the US in various fulfillment capacities.
Pay
$19.25 per hour, paid weekly.
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Package, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.
- Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
- Help train dock employees on new procedures.
- Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping.
- Perform picking and packing duties; check for evidence of product or container damage.
- Perform assigned tasks as described in location policies and procedures, including handling materials within associated logical transactions.
- Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required.
- Participate in workgroup and team activities for self-improvement and improving warehouse operations.
- Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six months of related warehouse experience required; one year or more preferred.
- Learn to operate powered industrial trucks (stand-up/sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks), including operation and maintenance (e.g., changing batteries, recognizing mechanical issues).
- May be required to operate manual or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (e.g., packaging line).
- Powered industrial truck certification.
- Ability to read and perform basic mathematics in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to input data into WMS computer systems.
- Willingness to work overtime as assigned.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment; self-driven and highly organized with excellent time management.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up practices.
