About the Role
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for safely and efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight from over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and/or straight trucks. This role involves operating material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Successful completion of a criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Operates all material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Works with different departments to meet business demands
- Communicates any issues to the supervisor that arise from loading and unloading
- Stays up to date with new systems and technology
- Participates in daily inventory processes, auditing, and researching discrepancies
- Demonstrates reliability and commitment to punctuality
- Performs all job tasks as assigned (may vary depending on client requirements)
Requirements
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team
- Proficient in attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet operational and customer demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to move, stand, and bend for long periods of time. The role requires effective communication with coworkers and stakeholders, both in person and via computer-related messaging. The employee must maneuver about work areas and move/manipulate various objects. This position may require extended work hours and occasional travel.
