About the Role
PennEngineering is seeking a motivated individual to join the Sherex Team as a Warehouse Associate. You’ll collaborate with teams in manufacturing and engineering to support operations and build the future.
Responsibilities
- Receive products and other goods using the ERP system, JD Edwards, and a Microsoft tablet.
- Pick orders via JD Edwards, verifying quantities by reading shipping information and box counts.
- Identify and stock products accurately and timely into warehouse bin locations using scanning equipment.
- Re-package products by counting items and ensuring accurate quantities per box.
- Maintain and process orders using tool assembly, bagging machines, rework, and quality sorting.
- Prepare and ship products according to customer requirements, shipping orders, and secondary process needs (including barcodes).
- Maintain equipment checklists and perform minimal upkeep (e.g., scales, forklifts). Complete daily and monthly maintenance checklists and report issues to management.
- Maintain a clean warehouse area following safety and housekeeping policies.
- Verify returned material authorization (RMA) quantities, part numbers, and customer details, then close RMAs in Syspro.
- Obtain and maintain PennEngineering-approved forklift certification within 3 months of employment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting and carrying of items, often ranging from 10 to 50 pounds (sometimes heavier).
- Frequent team lifting for items over 50 pounds.
- Standing and walking for extended periods, often 8+ hours per shift.
- Bending, stooping, and crouching to pick up or move items.
- Reaching overhead and at various angles to access shelves or storage areas.
- Pushing and pulling carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Climbing ladders or stairs to reach high storage areas.
- Operating machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or conveyor belts (may require certification).
- Repetitive motions such as scanning, packing, or sorting items.
- Working in varying temperatures, including cold storage or hot environments.
- Manual dexterity for handling small items, labeling, or packaging.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to use a computer for data entry, retrieval, and order updates.
- Experience with barcode scanning technology.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP system or another ERP system preferred.
