About the role
Pella is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to maintain productivity, efficiency, and safety in the Geneva, IL warehouse. This onsite union role involves coordination of warehouse product using radio frequency scanners, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, equipment, and products.
Responsibilities
- Comply with safety, quality, and warehouse requirements and procedures.
- Follow standard work and adhere to Pella Safe Operating Procedures.
- Perform all general warehouse positions as needed.
- Pull and load outbound trucks; read load lists, production schedules, and requisitions to determine items to be moved.
- Receive and unload inbound trucks, verify load lists, and move materials to designated areas.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to order number, size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assemble customer orders from stock, place on pallets or shelves, and mark materials with identifying information.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Use computer to verify order information and completion (e.g., expected receipt date, product type, color, or quantity).
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications for shipping.
- Maintain Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification and operate material handling equipment (e.g., cherry picker, forklift, stand-up reach truck).
- Operate radio frequency scanners.
- Prepare parcels for truck delivery, small package delivery, or mail.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Six months to one year of related warehouse experience preferred.
- Forklift experience and comfort operating a stand-up reach truck.
- Inventory scanner experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculations involving proportions, percentages, and measurements.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; occasionally lift more than 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
- Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The role involves exposure to possible temperature extremes while performing essential functions in a warehouse setting.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
Pay
Starting hourly rate of $23.36, with an increase after 3 months.
