About the role
Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. has grown to become a premier supplier of Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment, and supplies. We currently import, manufacture, and distribute over 7,000 products. We are seeking an experienced warehouse associate to join our collaborative and growth-oriented team.
Responsibilities
- Pick and assemble orders as indicated on the pick list.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing accurate and timely assembling.
- Document, record, and complete driver log when making deliveries.
- Stack and organize warehouse pallets.
- Absorb and assist with receiving unloading, stocking, and inventory checks in a timely manner.
- Accurately stock inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotate product inventory to maintain a FIFO food storage system.
- Partake in warehouse upkeep and ensure the stockroom and freezer are clean and organized.
- Cookout with salespersons to assemble urgent deliveries to customers.
- Adhere to Company attendance policies and designated work schedule to keep consistent and reliable attendance.
- Participate in the weekly warehouse meetings.
- Provide logistics support for Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
- Other duties as required from manager.
Requirements
- Able to work without sitting for extended periods of time, including standing and walking.
- Ability to talk, hear, climb, balance, reach, bend, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to handle and move up to 165 pounds assisted frequently.
- Specific vision abilities are required, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and maintain clarity.
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Work efficiently both independently and in a team.
- Adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
- High School Diploma required. 2+ years of warehouse or relevant experience a plus.
Qualifications
- Basic mathematical knowledge – combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, weight, etc.
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with operational equipment (e.g. forklifts, RF scanners) preferred.
- Demonstrate awareness of proper warehouse safety procedures.
- Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors a plus.
