About the role
The Warehouse Associate participates in accurately and efficiently processing inventory and customer orders. Responsibilities include retrieving items from designated storage locations, picking and packing orders, metering packages, applying labels, and communicating with team members.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve items from designated storage locations based on order specifications, pick lists, or electronic devices.
- Accurately select the correct quantity and type of products using handheld scanners or picking carts.
- Verify product codes, descriptions, and quantities to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Pack Domestic (Tier 1), Hazardous (Tier 2) and International (Tier 3) orders.
- Accurately pack products into appropriate containers, boxes, or packaging materials based on size, weight, and other specifications.
- Apply labels, stickers, or tags to packed products with correct information such as product names, quantities, and barcodes for easy identification and tracking.
- Operate packing machinery, such as tape dispensers, sealing machines, or shrink-wrap equipment, safely and effectively.
- Meter packages for both domestic and international shipments via FedEx, UPS, and other carriers.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures while handling materials, including proper lifting techniques and hazardous material handling protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate material flow and resolve any issues or challenges.
- Cross-train across related functions (e.g., inventory, receiving, and warehouse operations) to ensure operational flexibility and team coverage.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, including any additional responsibilities necessary to support the success of the department and organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or warehousing is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar environment preferred.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management tasks.
- RF knowledge; knowledge of lot numbers.
- Inventory Control experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team; excellent time management skill.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar environment preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks; Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management tasks; RF knowledge; Knowledge of lot numbers; Inventory Control experience; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team; Excellent time management skill.
