Warehouse Associate
Job Summary
Warehouse Associates execute warehousing activities for incoming and outgoing goods. Their responsibilities include receiving, handling, storing, recording, and dispatching goods safely, timely, and efficiently. They maintain complete and accurate data in the ERP (SxE) system. This is a temp-to-hire position where tasks may vary daily.
About the Role
The manager is looking for someone with around 2 years of previous warehouse experience. While not necessary, experience operating a stand-up forklift is helpful. Basic computer skills or RF scanner experience are needed. Basic math skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail are also important.
Responsibilities
- Completes shipments by processing and loading orders.
- Unloads, receives, and puts away incoming goods and merchandise.
- Unpacks bales, crates, and other containers.
- Checks for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
- Makes sure goods are placed on racks, shelves, or bins according to a predetermined sequence.
- Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Picks, packs, and dispatches outgoing goods and merchandise according to written or verbal requests or work orders.
- Verifies product and quantity accuracy.
- Loads trucks for customer delivery.
- Enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records.
- Retrieves stored information to respond to inquiries.
- Documents discrepancies on an error log and seeks management advice on appropriate corrective action.
- Operates warehouse equipment as needed to complete tasks.
- Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
Requirements
1+ year of relevant experience and/or training. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Attention to detail and safety-minded behavior are essential. Experience with loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment; forklift/cherry picker experience is preferred. Basic computer knowledge and proficiency or a demonstrated technical aptitude to learn. Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals) are preferred. Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
