Warehouse Associate

About the role

Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty products. With twenty-four locations, we serve the eastern U.S. and Caribbean markets, supplying customers who transform our products into finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently pull customer orders for next-day delivery and customer pick-up.
• Unload inbound freight by hand or forklift, verify received material, and enter items into the system.
• Restock and verify inventory in designated bin locations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Minimum 1 year of forklift operation experience.
• Familiarity with RF (Radio Frequency) devices and computer tools.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly.
• Strong customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Adaptability to changing priorities.
• Ability to drive a box truck under 10,000 pounds.

Benefits become available on the first of the month following one month of continuous full-time employment.
