About the Role
This position involves operating Powered Industrial Trucks and performing various warehouse duties to ensure efficient material handling and order processing.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g., forklift, reach lift) by securing material prior to handling or storing and operating at reasonable speeds and control.
- Safely pull, process, and perform inspections of materials, supplies, tools, fixtures, and parts.
- Handle shipping, pulling orders, and completing required paperwork.
- Move materials within the warehouse and assist in other warehouse activities as directed.
- Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from staging and processing areas.
- Monitor machinery and equipment operation to ensure product meets performance specifications.
- Promptly notify supervisor of any quality or production issues.
- Maintain good housekeeping by regularly cleaning work area, machines, and equipment.
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding matters of importance.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent incidents or injuries.
- Follow established company values, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.
The individual may also be asked to perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Operate a computer with basic PC proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and reporting software).
- Accurately perform basic arithmetic (multiply, divide, add, subtract) to resolve practical problems.
- Wear and use required PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Learn and effectively operate equipment and work processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct required quality checks and tests.
- Visibly inspect equipment to detect problems and make adjustments as needed.
- Demonstrate good mechanical and operational understanding of equipment.
- Understand written instructions and complete appropriate documentation.
- Read orders and labels accurately without transposing part numbers.
- Use a logical approach to troubleshooting and prioritizing production needs.
- Recognize problems and work toward solutions.
- Pay attention to details and pursue quality in work duties.
- Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity.

Qualifications
- 1+ years of distribution experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license through Highline Warren Distribution.
- Powered Industrial Truck Certification is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive grasping and twisting with hands.
- Walking and/or standing up to 10 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable.
- Ascend/descend stairs/ladders when operating forklifts or accessing high shelves.
- Perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and exchange detailed information.
Environmental Conditions
- Work in a warehouse environment with exposure to high/precarious places and moving machinery.
- Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, odors, and fumes.
- Loud noise levels.
- Non-climate-controlled environment.
Pay
Up to $22/hour with daily pay available.
