Responsibilities for this Crate builder job include: Measure and Cut: Read blueprints, work orders, or measurements to cut lumber and plywood to precise dimensions. Assemble and Secure: Build frames, bases, skids, and walls using hand and power tools like saws, nail guns, drills, and staplers. Package Freight: Secure and cushion items inside the containers using foam, strapping, or wrapping materials for safe transit. Inspect and Maintain: Check finished crates for structural integrity and keep the workspace and shop equipment clean and safe. Material Handling: Move lumber and loaded containers using pallet jacks or forklifts Verify compliance with quality, safety, production standards, work rules, and efficient operation of equipment Other related duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in carpentry, woodworking, or light industrial manufacturing. Tool Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of power tools (circular saws, table saws, nail guns, drills) and measuring devices like tape measures. Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift heavy materials (frequently up to 50 lbs). Ability to wear steel toes
