Warehouse Associate
About the Role
Supports the day-to-day operations of the Branch by providing order and delivery services. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion. This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative.
Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test screening for substances including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This position is also subject to a background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities. Only job-related convictions will be considered and will not automatically disqualify the candidate.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, handle, and ship product for customer delivery.
- Prepare orders by identifying product by size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Read and match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
- Operate power-truck equipment (certification required).
- Use inventory control equipment, such as bar-coding devices and handheld scanners.
- Maintain a safe and orderly warehouse environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
- Basic math and reasoning skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted; occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
- Position requires prolonged standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, and climbing ladders for top-level selection.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Skills
- Fluent in English (required); Spanish fluency a plus.
