Warehouse Associate

About the role

This is a full-time, hourly position. Work is typically performed between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary according to business needs. Responsibilities

• Accurately pull material from location to fill each order
• Pack, label, and place filled orders in proper locations for delivery
• Operate gas and electric forklifts and riders
• Operate wire measuring/cutting machine, cut wire to proper length, mark tags with new wire amounts, and fill racks
• Operate pipe machine, cut pipe to proper length and depth
• Maintain a clean work environment: sweep and mop floors, clean and dust shelves, sort and dump trash
• Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies
• Handle calls for the warehouse as needed
• Use computer and/or RF scanner to check product status, availability, and location
• Notify inventory control about shortages or overages in inventory
• Load delivery trucks as needed
• Assist in Receiving as workload permits
• Inspect trucks before delivery (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, etc.) and report or schedule repairs
• Communicate with fellow employee-owners about loading procedures and address concerns
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic product and warehouse or delivery knowledge typically acquired in 1–3 years of experience
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Safety training on material handling and forklift driving
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
• Prior computer knowledge and experience
