About the Role

The Warehouse Associates helps ensure that the warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently. Complete all tasks assigned by the Warehouse/Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Pull inventory for shipments
  • Help with ensuring correct material is pulled and loaded on our truck for delivery
  • Recording selected merchandise in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Ensuring correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Load finished product onto truck
  • Navigate equipment through a warehouse to collect customer orders
  • Follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
  • Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
  • Counter sales to General Contractors
  • Use technology to help manage the logistics process

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware is a plus
  • Experience driving trucks for delivery preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
  • Able to work closely and cordially with other staff associates

Qualifications

  • Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching
  • Spend approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing
  • Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds

Physical Demands

  • Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching
  • Approximately 1/3 of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening
  • Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required

Work Environment

  • Proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery
  • Using various tools and hardware
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
