Warehouse Associate
About the role
The Warehouse Associates plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the warehouse. They are responsible for preparing and completing orders, pulling inventory, recording orders, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Pull inventory for shipments
- Help with ensuring correct material is pulled and loaded on our truck for delivery
- Record selected merchandise in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Ensure correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Load finished product onto truck
- Navigate equipment through a warehouse to collect customer orders
- Follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
- Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
- Counter sales to General Contractors
- Use technology to help manage the logistics process
- Perform other relative duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Pre-employment background check and drug test required
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware (preferred)
- Experience driving trucks for delivery (preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
Qualifications
- Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds
- Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching
- Approximately 1/3 of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening
