Warehouse Associate

About the Role
The Warehouse Associate supports the operational functions of the warehouse, including receiving, distributing, and managing inventory, as well as fulfilling orders and coordinating deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Receives incoming freight and checks material for damages or shortages.
- Distributes material to proper stock locations and fills special orders or backorders.
- Follows up with departments, carriers, or vendors on receiving discrepancies, damages, and shortages.
- Checks and packs material for delivery, coordinating with trucks, freight companies, or carriers.
- Maintains assigned inventory stock locations, ensuring correct labeling and neat organization.
- Fills orders for customer delivery and informs departments of stock outs or inventory discrepancies.
- Maintains shipping equipment, work area cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Operates and maintains delivery vehicles, including logs, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Adheres to traffic and safety regulations while operating equipment safely.
- May assist in customer service functions, including order entry, processing returns, and technical assistance.
- May deliver material to customer sites and assist with loading/unloading trucks.
- Reports building, equipment, or security concerns to supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 years of work experience preferred.
- Prior warehouse distribution experience, including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems, is preferred.
- If driving is required: candidate must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and may need a current medical certification.
- PC proficiency in Windows, internet, email, and SAP software is a plus.

Lifting and carrying requirements (weight and frequency):
- Occasionally (0–33%): Lift up to 100+ lbs. from floor to waist or above waist.
- Frequently (34–66%): Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist or above waist; carry up to 25 lbs. unilaterally or 75 lbs. bilaterally.
- Continuously (67–100%): Handle materials (applying pressure with fingers and palm).
Physical activity frequency:
- Frequently: Sitting, reaching, balancing, repetitive motion (hands/fingers), driving forklifts, hearing, exposure to weather/temperature conditions.
- Occasionally: Standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, crouching/squatting, pushing/pulling, trunk rotation, fingering (typing/pinching), talking.
- Not at all: Crawling, kneeling, lifting 101+ lbs., carrying 51+ lbs. unilaterally or 101+ lbs. bilaterally, travel.
