About the role

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate A who will assist the Supervisor in leading their assigned team to perform tasks ensuring accurate and timely transactions by following department processes and procedures. This role involves safely operating equipment while handling material within a warehouse or storage facility, maintaining compliance with quality, productivity, safety, and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Process, package, and ship orders accurately
  • Organize stocks and maintain inventory
  • Inspect products for defects and damages
  • Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments
  • Organize warehouse space
  • Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items appropriately
  • Check, verify, and fill customer invoices
  • Contribute ideas to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
  • Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, conveyors, or handling equipment to move material within the warehouse or storage facility
  • Identify potential hazards in the workplace and act to eliminate or minimize risks, including communicating product availability issues to management
  • Promote safety awareness and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including completing housekeeping duties
  • Perform daily forklift inspections per required criteria
  • Maintain functional knowledge of BOLs (Bills of Lading), receiving processes, and BOM (Bill of Materials) processes
  • Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
  • Work around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity; noise levels may be loud at times
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed to foster a positive safety culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience using material handling equipment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to support a positive team environment in a lead role
  • Proven ability to complete necessary training and follow safety policies, procedures, and processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the material handling field
  • Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on instructions and safety
  • Proven excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work and sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to further develop computer skills such as email, reports, and site-specific systems
  • Proven ability to hold themselves and assigned team accountable for their areas of responsibility and actions
  • Demonstrated willingness and desire to perform responsibilities accurately and efficiently with a high level of customer service
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of the organization in various areas of responsibility
  • Proven ability and willingness to successfully obtain a forklift certification (both written and practical tests)
  • Proven ability and willingness to cross-train in other areas for backup coverage as needed
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)

Skills

  • Greater than 6 months of experience in a lead warehouse/material handling or production role in a warehouse or production environment (beneficial)
  • Extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the material handling field (beneficial)
