About the role
The Warehouse Associate at AHF Products is responsible for assembling, loading, receiving, and properly labeling pallets in a manner prescribed by customers in the shipping department. This position is based in Kankakee, IL and is part of a tough, winning team committed to transparency, ownership, unity, grit, and hustle.
Responsibilities
- Follow Job Safety Analysis guidelines to ensure safe operations
- Perform pre-shift safety checks of forklift or other equipment
- Operate in a safe manner and participate in safety training
- Operate fork and reach trucks; spotter truck and TRT experience is a plus
- Assemble orders, load and thread stretch-wrap machine, move picked material, assemble and label pallets, remove empty pallets, stretch-wrap from racks, adjust inventory, verify quantities, SKU and lot of tile, pick bulk storage items, stretch-wrap outgoing pallets, communicate safety concerns to drivers
- Receiving: verify quantities, SKUs, and lots on each incoming pallet, transfer incoming pallets to appropriate racks, manually separate mixed SKU pallets, store material in designated racks
- Inventory Control: conduct cycle counts, operate palletizer production line, check equipment and supplies, operate dispatcher system, perform basic stock inquiries, use operator radio data terminal, maintain clean work area
- Work any shift and overtime as required, perform other duties as assigned or directed by management
Qualifications
- Must successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification, and drug screening
- Positive and verifiable work history
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in a related environment or equivalent training and/or education
- Ability to read and interpret documents, use a calculator, perform operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Basic computer skills
- Shift and schedule flexibility, including off-hours and weekends, and overtime as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively and function in a team-based environment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence
