Warehouse Associate - 1st Shift
About the Role
As a Warehouse Associate, you'll play a critical role in keeping grocery stores stocked throughout the Midwest. This position primarily performs Order Selector duties using voice-directed technology and powered industrial equipment to accurately select customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. No two days are exactly the same, making this an active and rewarding position for individuals who enjoy staying busy.

- Femrite Drive (Cooler/Freezer Products) – East Madison
- Daniels Street (Organic Foods, Candy and General Merchandise Products) – East Madison

Responsibilities
- Select customer orders accurately using voice-picking technology.
- Operate powered warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Build stable pallets for shipment.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Inspect products for quality and accuracy.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Work as part of a team to ensure customer orders are shipped on time.
- Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is shipped.
- Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms.
- Tag or mark orders as requested.
- Repack orders when necessary.
- Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Stock product in pick slots.
- Conduct physical inventories as required.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
- Meet company standards for productivity.
- Operate powered lift trucks in performance of order selecting duties when required.
- Conduct safety inspections on any equipment used.
- Use hand-held computers/scanners and voice-enabled computers.

- Capable of climbing, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to operate machinery.
- Ability to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High school graduate or equivalent and excellent math skills.

- Reading/Data Analysis: Ability to read and analyze data on a computer screen and in printed materials. (0–24%)
- Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand for long periods, to walk; mobility between warehouse and office to contact supervisors and co-workers when needed. (75–100%)
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop, bend, and kneel to perform job duties. (25–49%)
- Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds occasionally. (75–100%)
- Work Environment: Ability to work in an operational environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment movement when applicable. (75–100%)
- Safety Requirements: Must comply with all safety requirements, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in operational areas. (75–100%)
