Warehouse Assistant

Responsibilities

• Pulls and distributes materials, artifacts, or other stock items to fill orders.
• Prepares and packages goods for shipping.
• Maintains accurate inventory records using inventory software.
• Receives goods and enters all items into inventory.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Loads trucks with goods, makes deliveries, and picks up material from local vendors.
• Keeps the warehouse clean and organized.
• Assists carpenters and painters with prepping material for finishing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to work overtime when needed.
• Frequent reaching, feeling, bending, stooping, carrying, finely manipulating, and keying in data.
• Ability to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Standing/walking for 9-10 hours per day and sitting for 1-2 hours per day.
• Lifting up to 75 pounds frequently.
• Communicating through telephone, email, and in-person communications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
• Experience operating a forklift required.
• Minimum high school degree.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Very neat and organized.
• Familiarity with and comfort with using basic hand and power tools.
