About the role

Organize and direct all inbound warehousing functions while ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality according to Masonite policies. Ensure accurate inventory of materials and products across warehouses, conduct periodic inventory analysis to improve efficiencies, and implement inventory control procedures. Maintain communication with all stakeholders on matters concerning inventory, receiving, and shipping functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of special projects for Warehouse Management, including standardized training for warehouse employees and the introduction of Warehouse Management Systems (barcoding & scanning of all products & storage locations).
  • Create and lead the implementation of routine Warehouse Management tools and practices, including PFEP and ABC Cycle Counting.
  • Identify and resolve issues skillfully and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Achieve goals through influencing others and work with minimal supervision while making decisions as needed.
  • Manage inventory accuracy, control, report, and communicate damaged goods due to warehouse flow issues.
  • Drive implementations to support organized transfer of material from the warehouse to the plant.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of incoming movement and storage of goods.
  • Manage personnel to minimize material flow interruptions by following safety rules and supporting cross-training between team members.
  • Monitor and follow up on material flow to the main building to ensure no interruptions on production lines and shipping requirements by meeting hourly and daily goals.
  • Maintain good housekeeping toward 5S goals by rotating personnel tasks and assigning areas as needed.
  • Ensure workforce needs for receiving and shipping warehouse shifts are met and safeguard against negligent retention.
  • Create and implement procedures for incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely and economic repairs to all equipment within the Receiving and Shipping Department.
  • Enforce safety in accordance with company and governmental standards.
  • Monitor overtime hours to maintain the proper workforce needed for processing receipt of material and shipping to the main building.
  • Review and evaluate new ideas to improve product flow within the warehouse and as an internal part supplier.
  • Adhere to rules and regulations set by Masonite and outside agencies.
  • Train and develop receiving and shipping personnel to achieve departmental objectives and increase employees' capacity to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Assist Plant Leader in researching and developing new techniques and procedures to increase overall efficiency of receiving operations.
  • Responsible for all timekeeping activities and vacation planning for associated departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) preferred or High School diploma with 3-5 years of Warehouse supervision experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and understanding of receiving within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Previous Supervisor or Team Leader experience in a similar work environment.
  • Progressive responsibility in current or previous roles.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures as they relate to material flow.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of purchasing, customer service, data processing, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Proven ability to achieve results through persistent negotiations, appropriate allocation of resources, strong communication skills, and sound decision-making.
  • Interpersonal skills to lead, manage, motivate, and develop positive employee relations.
