Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming freight shipments for accuracy and condition.
- Verify shipping documentation against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory using established tracking systems.
- Cook with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Prepare and label freight for outbound shipment to event venues.
- Maintain accurate records of all freight movements, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment.
- Communicate with vendors, exhibitors, and internal teams regarding freight status and requirements.
Onsite Event Operations (During Setup/Teardown)
- Transition to event venue to oversee freight receiving and distribution during setup.
- Manage onsite freight dock operations, including check-in and routing of shipments.
- Cook with exhibitors, contractors, and event staff to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track and document all incoming and outgoing freight at the event site.
- Resolve freight-related issues and discrepancies in real-time.
- Aid with the organization of storage areas and material handling equipment.
- Support teardown operations, including coordination of outbound freight and return shipments.
- Maintain accurate onsite freight records and prepare post-event reports.
- Ensure adherence to venue regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, freight handling, or logistics.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation, including bills of lading and freight manifests.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended shifts during events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in event logistics or trade show operations.
- Forklift certification.
- Familiarity with freight carrier systems and tracking platforms.
- Knowledge of customs documentation for international shipments.
- Experience with warehouse management software (WMS).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (warehouse and event venues).
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and reach as needed.
