Build Your Career in Operations — No Experience Required
This is not your typical warehouse job, and it’s not a waiting room to become a field electrician. We are building a team of high-performers who want a long-term career in logistics, inventory, and operations support. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and being the behind-the-scenes force that helps a team succeed, we will teach you everything you need to know.
The L.I.G.H.T. Framework
We take our culture seriously and hold every team member to the L.I.G.H.T. framework: we Lead with Integrity, Innovate and Solve, Grow Together, High Standards Always, Think of Others First.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage Materials: Receive, organize, and stock materials, tools, and equipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
- Ensure Job Readiness: Stage materials for upcoming jobs, support truck restocking, and maintain basic fleet readiness so our technicians can perform at their best.
- Control Inventory: Assist with inventory counts and material tracking, proactively identifying missing, damaged, or low-stock items.
- Support Daily Operations: Handle returns, warranty items, and vendor coordination, while assisting with deliveries, pickups, and jobsite support as needed.
- Drive Improvement: Learn our systems and operational standards, actively working with the team to improve efficiency, accuracy, and organization.
What Makes This Role Different
- Logistics is the Backbone: At Chesapeake Electric, logistics is not “just the warehouse.” When materials are organized and jobs are prepared correctly, the entire company performs better. You are vital to our daily operational excellence.
- Career Launchpad: No experience required—we invest heavily in your professional development to teach you service business operations, process improvement, and vendor coordination.
- Clear Focus: We want to be upfront: this role is designed for someone who sees logistics as a career path. It is not the right fit if your main goal is to become a field electrician as quickly as possible.
Your Career Trajectory
- Phase 1: The Launch (Weeks 1–8): Complete our onboarding, learn the warehouse layout, master basic inventory systems, and understand our operational standards.
- Phase 2: Core Impact (Months 3–12): Take ownership of daily material staging, fleet support, and inventory tracking, becoming a dependable pillar for the field team.
- Phase 3: Advanced Operations (Year 1+): Deepen your skill set by learning vendor coordination, purchasing, and process improvement as we prepare you for specialized roles in logistics and operations.
