Warehouse Administrative Assistant - Returns - Upper Marlboro Distribution Center
About the role
The Supply Chain Department Admin Assistant will assist leadership with administrative tasks, assignments, and other projects supporting the operation. This position requires an energetic and customer service-oriented individual to provide the best service when dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support leadership with administrative tasks and other projects (e.g. shift start-up and closing tasks, draft memos, file documentation, ensure sufficient office/break room supplies for the assigned area, assist with equipment and supply tracking and distribution, etc.).
- Use multiple computer applications and programs to capture, report and share out departmental data and results to ensure proper reflection of departmental performance.
- Collect PEP sheets and do a first pass review for errors, then submit them to their managers.
- Responsible for submission and resolution of PO Workspace (POW) for trouble freight, supporting current SLA (service level agreement) metrics.
- Complete daily safety observations. Submit repair requests for issues observed. Escalate requests if resolution is not happening in a timely manner.
- Review scheduling / assignment board, ensure all team members are assigned appropriately.
- Communicate with internal customers and vendors via email and phone to ensure prompt response to issues.
- Identify and research problems and expedite solutions to ensure smooth, continuous workflow of product (discrepancy with wrong item, wrong location of the product).
- Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship-building and collaboration.
- Deliver productivity through the efficient use of time and a commitment to strong results.
- Able to do the essential job function of a Warehouse Associate to be able to rotate into that role when there is a business need.
Qualifications
- You own this if you have… Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (very proficient)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Intermediate personal computer skills – must have basic skills plus be able to operate more advanced PC-based software applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and basic graphics.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to perform functions of a Warehouse Associate when required
