  • Distinguished career at the University of Chicago as a Professor of Medicine/Oncology from July 1994 to February 2025
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Yale University, graduated in 1988
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1984
  • Author of over 400 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, and book chapters
  • More than 300 abstracts and scientific presentations
