Walter Stadler was recently appointed as City of Hope Chicago’s Chief Clinical Officer, effective February 2025. He is based in Zion, Illinois, where he leads clinical operations at this renowned cancer research and treatment center.

Responsibilities

• Leading clinical operations at City of Hope Chicago
• Developing new drugs for genitourinary cancers
• Improving access to clinical trials for underserved communities
• Aiming to reduce treatment toxicity and costs through multiple investigator-initiated clinical trials for prostate cancer

Qualifications

• Distinguished career at the University of Chicago as a Professor of Medicine/Oncology from July 1994 to February 2025
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Yale University, graduated in 1988
• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1984
• Author of over 400 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, and book chapters
• More than 300 abstracts and scientific presentations
