About the role
The Inpatient Therapist provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This is a Per Diem position for coverage as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical social work and case management consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care
- Conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in treatment planning, and discharge planning for assigned cases
- Manage cases on both the inpatient eating disorder unit and inpatient psychiatric unit
- Conduct individual, group and family therapy
- Conduct crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources
- Work to ensure that all required documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team and Walden continuum
- May be required to support virtual patient care and telehealth services as needed, including during periods of low census or to address coverage needs
Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing direct clinical care in a mental health setting
- Licensure/Certification: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, PhD, PsyD, LMFT, preferred or license-eligible
- CPR certification, required

- Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships, age specific growth and development, behavior management and crisis management
- Required competencies: Strong organizational and communication skills, Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently, Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment, Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment, Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
