Duties And Key Responsibilities

  • Check floor plan for assigned station and side work.
  • Greet all residents and guests.
  • Aid residents to table and assist with folding walkers as needed.
  • Distribute/collect menus and take meal orders.
  • Monitor residents' dietary needs and make menu suggestions.
  • Plate and control portions of meals for residents and guests.
  • Serve meals and beverages accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor resident's eating habits and report any unusual behavior.
  • Inspect and adjust table settings for cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure condiments and supplies are ready for the next meal.
  • Provide excellent customer service, fostering a friendly and comfortable environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents, addressing them by name and engaging in conversation.
  • Be familiar with the daily menu and special diets/dietary restrictions.
  • Communicate accurately with kitchen staff and ensure dietary requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain smooth service and address issues promptly.
  • Assist other employees when available, seeking out opportunities to help.
  • Recognize the need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts.
  • Follow hygiene and safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
  • Adhere to food handling guidelines and ensure proper sanitation of dishes, utensils, and service areas.
  • Follow proper storage practices, including labeling, quality assurance, categorizing storage areas, and stock rotation.
  • Detect and address any unpleasant odors in the dining area.
  • Clean and sanitize various equipment and surfaces.
  • Vacuum floors and mats, sweep floor, and remove trash as required.
  • Complete special assigned cleaning jobs based on periodic schedules.
  • Foster a sense of community by engaging with residents, listening to their feedback, and addressing any concerns or special requests.
  • Promote social interaction during mealtimes to enhance the residents' overall experience.
  • Assist in setting up and decorating dining areas for special events and celebrations.
  • Support the organization and execution of special events and celebrations.
  • Wear proper and clean company uniform.
  • Perform other duties and assist in other departments as assigned by Supervisor, Executive Director, or Manager on duty.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and be able to work weekends and holidays.
