About the role

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks qualified individuals to fill various teaching positions. Positions include but are not limited to teachers, librarians, and counselors.

Responsibilities

  • Hawaii State Department of Education commitment to hiring highly qualified teachers.
  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor's Degree.
  • For non-Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions, a valid Hawaii teaching license is required upon hire.
  • Enrollment in a Program is mandatory for those without a completed Teacher's Education Program.
  • Active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements is necessary.
  • First paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of start date.
  • Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.
  • Compensation based on the applicable Bargaining Unit 05 10-month salary schedule.
  • 18 days of paid sick leave during the school year.
  • State-sponsored Medical, Drug, Vision, and Adult Dental Plans.

Qualifications

  • Completed a bachelor's degree or higher by the effective start date of the teaching position.
